The Guardians, an exhibition, 2023

The Guardians is a collection of work by Barbara Desrosiers. The work is all created on iPad and is refined on the computer with Photoshop. No pre-formed images are carried into the work, all work is done intuitively. If any photos are used, they are brought in after the work has dictated the direction it wishes to take, and all photo references are the artist’s. They become powerful symbols of the unseen presences in our lives, the spirits that walk beside us and, as such, defy identification. Each one carries a power and has a different message for the viewer. No two people see them the same and almost everyone who does experience them feels a connection on some level.
